Gwangju Dong-gu announced on the 29th that the 18th Gwangju Five Districts Joint Choir Festival will be held at the Bitgoeul Citizens' Cultural Center.
The choir festival, scheduled for July 2, is organized by the "Gwangju Five Districts Choir Association," which brings together the district choirs from all five autonomous districts of Gwangju. Now in its 18th year, this event will see the five district choirs gather in one place to showcase the skills they have honed over the past year. Each choir is expected to deliver a moving performance with beautiful harmonies for the audience.
During the performance, a total of 15 choral pieces will be presented, including "I Am a Firefly," "Unforgettable," "Fountain of Youth," "Barley Field," "Gashiri," and "Beautiful Country." The finale will feature all members of the five district choirs coming together on stage to perform "Beautiful Country." Admission to the concert is free for all seats, and any citizen is welcome to attend.
Park Byungkuk, president of the association, said, "The five district choirs have prepared for the festival with the goal of becoming choirs that represent Gwangju. I hope this event becomes an opportunity to share inspiration and happiness with many people."
Lim Taek, head of Dong-gu, stated, "The moment different voices come together to create resonance, that is the true beauty and power of choral music. I hope everyone can share in the early summer atmosphere and emotion through the beautiful melodies presented by the five district choirs."
