The Seodaemun District Office Women's Basketball Team has delivered the news of their championship victory. On June 29, Seodaemun District announced that the team, led by legendary Korean women's basketball coach Park Chansuk, defeated Sacheon City Hall 52-49, fending off a fierce comeback in the final match of the '2025 Taebaek Mayor's Cup National Business Basketball Federation Tournament,' held at the Highland Gymnasium in Taebaek, Gangwon Province.

With this victory, the Seodaemun District Office Women's Basketball Team overcame the disappointment of finishing as runners-up at the previous tournament, the 'Gimcheon Tournament' of the National Business Basketball Federation held in April this year, and secured the championship with three consecutive wins in this tournament. Additionally, they achieved back-to-back championships at the 'Taebaek Tournament,' following last year's victory.
Earlier, the team defeated Daegu Metropolitan City Hall 67-40 on June 27 and Gimcheon City Hall 46-40 on June 28. In the match against Sacheon City Hall, Seodaemun District Office took the lead in the first quarter at 18-9, maintained a 31-27 advantage by the second quarter, extended it to 40-37 by the third quarter, and ultimately secured a hard-fought victory with a final score of 52-49 in the fourth quarter.
Forward Park Eunseo of Seodaemun District Office scored a game-high 16 points, while center Yoo Hyuni contributed 15 points and guard Lee Sojeong added 12 points, each recording double-digit scores. The Coach of the Tournament award went to Coach Park Chansuk, while the Most Valuable Player award was given to Lee Sojeong.
This tournament featured four teams?Seodaemun District Office, Daegu Metropolitan City Hall, Gimcheon City Hall, and Sacheon City Hall?competing in a round-robin format. The 'Seodaemun District Office Women's Basketball Team Supporters' filled the gymnasium with enthusiastic cheers and applause, providing strong support for the players.
Lee Seongheon, Mayor of Seodaemun District, stated, "I extend my congratulations and gratitude to the basketball team for delivering the inspiring message of 'We can do it' with this meaningful victory achieved together with our residents."
The next goal for the Seodaemun District Office Women's Basketball Team is to compete for a second consecutive championship at the 80th National Men's and Women's Basketball Championships, which will be held in Yeonggwang, Jeollanam-do, from July 25 to August 4.
