On Saturday, the 28th, extremely hot weather is expected to affect mainly the southern regions, while most areas nationwide will experience rain.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, starting from the 28th, most regions across the country will see maximum perceived temperatures rise above 31 degrees Celsius, resulting in continued hot weather.
Heat wave advisories have been issued for most areas in the southern regions. There is also a possibility that the advisories will be expanded to some central regions and Jeju Island, as the maximum perceived temperature in these areas is expected to exceed 33 degrees Celsius. Some regions may also experience tropical nights.
On Saturday, the morning low temperatures are forecast to range from 21 to 24 degrees Celsius, while the daytime highs are expected to be between 26 and 34 degrees Celsius.
The forecasted minimum temperatures by region are as follows: Seoul 23 degrees, Incheon 22 degrees, Suwon 22 degrees, Chuncheon 21 degrees, Gangneung 24 degrees, Cheongju 24 degrees, Daejeon 23 degrees, Jeonju 24 degrees, Gwangju 24 degrees, Daegu 24 degrees, Busan 23 degrees, Ulsan 23 degrees, and Jeju 24 degrees.
The maximum temperatures are forecast as follows: Seoul 28 degrees, Incheon 26 degrees, Suwon 28 degrees, Chuncheon 28 degrees, Gangneung 30 degrees, Cheongju 30 degrees, Daejeon 31 degrees, Jeonju 31 degrees, Gwangju 32 degrees, Daegu 34 degrees, Busan 28 degrees, Ulsan 32 degrees, and Jeju 31 degrees.
Rain is forecast for most areas nationwide on this day. In regions where rain falls, there may be gusty winds, as well as thunder and lightning. The expected rainfall amounts are as follows: Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi 5 to 50 mm; inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon 5 to 40 mm; Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam 5 to 50 mm; Chungbuk 5 to 40 mm; Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk 5 to 50 mm; Daegu and Gyeongbuk 5 to 60 mm; Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam 5 to 50 mm.
The concentration of fine dust particles is expected to remain at 'good' to 'moderate' levels in all regions.
For the time being, sea fog is expected in most maritime areas. In particular, island regions may experience dense fog with visibility less than 200 meters, so caution is advised to prevent maritime safety accidents.
