The Carbon Neutrality Point System is a program that provides performance bonuses twice a year to households that reduce their energy (electricity, water, city gas) usage by more than 5% compared to their average monthly usage over the past two years. Participants can choose to receive the bonus in cash, Green Card points, or Gas App cash.

Paju City explained that the operation of the Carbon Neutrality Point System (Energy) for the second half of 2024 resulted in a total reduction of 3,038 tons of greenhouse gases. According to the National Institute of Forest Science's standard carbon absorption rates, this is equivalent to planting approximately 21,500 pine trees.

Residents who wish to newly participate in the Carbon Neutrality Point System can apply through the program’s energy website (www.cpoint.or.kr). Existing members must update their personal information, such as address changes, in order to receive benefits.

Jo Yunok, Head of the Climate Crisis Response Division, said, "The Carbon Neutrality Point System is a program that allows you to practice energy saving and greenhouse gas reduction in daily life while also receiving economic benefits," and added, "We hope for the active interest and participation of citizens to help realize a carbon-neutral society by 2050."
