Volvo Korea Begins Pre-orders for New XC90, Starting at 88.2 Million Won

Volvo Cars Korea has announced the pricing for the new facelifted model of its seven-seater flagship sport utility vehicle (SUV), the XC90, and began accepting pre-orders on June 27.


Debuting in the global market in 2002 with its first-generation model, the XC90 is Volvo Cars’ flagship SUV. It is one of the brand’s most awarded and popular models, recognized for its Scandinavian design, human-centric spatial philosophy, and industry-leading safety technologies.


According to Volvo, the new XC90 has been upgraded in various aspects, including: a modernized design tailored for the era of electrification; a next-generation user experience based on advanced technology; the use of new premium materials; and a reconfigured interior for optimal comfort.


Inside, the new XC90 is equipped with an independent 11.2-inch center display and Volvo’s next-generation user experience, ‘Volvo Car UX.’ The system is designed to minimize driver distraction and allow for more intuitive access to information, helping drivers focus on the road and driving. In addition, an integrated infotainment service developed in collaboration with TMAP Mobility is provided as standard, and Naver’s in-car ‘Whale’ browser has been newly added. Thanks to its open ecosystem supporting web standards, a wide range of entertainment options?including OTT, social media, and music streaming services?can be enjoyed within the vehicle.

In the Korean market, the new XC90 will be available as a plug-in hybrid (T8) with a maximum output of 462 horsepower and a pure electric driving range of up to 56 km per charge, and as a 48V mild hybrid (B6) with a maximum output of 300 horsepower based on gasoline. Sales trims are divided into Plus and Ultra. In particular, the Ultra trim offers a choice between Bright and Dark exterior themes.


The B6 Plus trim is priced at 88.2 million won, while the Ultra trim with air suspension is priced at 99.9 million won. The T8 Ultra trim is set at 116.2 million won.


Additional benefits provided as standard include: a best-in-class 5-year or 100,000 km general parts warranty and consumables replacement service; an 8-year or 160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty; 15 years of free over-the-air (OTA) updates; and a 5-year digital service package subscription.


Pre-orders for the new XC90 are being accepted at 39 showrooms nationwide, with official deliveries scheduled to begin in July.
