On June 26, the Korea Housing Builders Association, together with the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation, held a ceremony to commemorate the 2025 Support Program for Renovation and Rental Assistance for Aging Homes of National Meritorious Persons. The event, held at the Federation of Korean Industries Hall in Seoul, was attended by approximately 100 people, including Kang Jeongae, Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Lee Jongchan, President of the Liberation Association, representatives of housing companies participating in the renovation support project for aging homes, representatives of national meritorious persons, and officials from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
This project, now in its 32nd year, awarded government honors and plaques of appreciation to 30 companies that provided free renovation services for aging homes of national meritorious persons. The awards included the Order of Civil Merit, Presidential Commendations, and Prime Minister's Commendations. The Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation provided 400 million won in rental assistance to homeless national meritorious persons free of charge.
Changbo General Construction received the Order of Civil Merit. Ilshin Construction and Daesung Construction received Presidential Commendations, while Daekwang Construction, Daeshin E&D, and Dongmyung General Construction received Prime Minister's Commendations. Twelve companies, including Moa Construction Industry, received Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Commendations. Seven companies, including Taewan Construction, received Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Commendations. Five companies, including Geumsil Development, received plaques of appreciation from the Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs. Jung Wonjoo, President of the Korea Housing Builders Association, stated, "We will further expand this project so that more national meritorious persons can benefit in the future."
