The Wando County Family Center was newly constructed with a total project cost of 6 billion KRW (1.5 billion KRW in national funds and 4.5 billion KRW in county funds), covering a total floor area of 1,998 square meters and consisting of four above-ground floors. The center's interior features an open space, a community room, a shared childcare space, a language classroom, a Korean language classroom, group counseling rooms, educational rooms, a cooking classroom, and club rooms, all designed to provide customized services for family members.
The opening ceremony began with a haegeum performance and a pre-ceremony performance by the 'Dalbit Dance' club, followed by a commemorative speech by Governor Shin, a congratulatory address by Chairman Kim, a video presentation on the center's progress, and a celebratory sand art performance. In particular, the sand art performance, which combined cultural and artistic content with the values of family, received a great response from attendees.

In his commemorative speech, Governor Shin Woochul stated, "The family is the basic unit of society, and a healthy family is essential for a stable social community. We have long felt the absence of a family service platform, but through this public project, we have established a systematic family support system." He added, "I expect the Family Center to play a pivotal role as a venue for various forms of family-level communication, including family counseling, child care, and parent education."
The Wando County Family Center will operate comprehensive and specialized programs such as improving family relationships, supporting child-rearing, counseling for families in crisis, and supporting the settlement of multicultural families. In particular, it will also serve as an open community space where various families in the region can come together.
Kim Haeyong, the center director, stated, "We will continue to develop family-friendly programs that meet the needs of residents and create a healthy social foundation where all family members can grow and recover together."
