Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Suhyeon) announced on June 26 that it will designate and operate the period from July 1 to August 31 as the "2025 Industrial Accident Prevention Emphasis Period" to prevent accidents in industrial sites and promote a culture of safety.

The "Industrial Accident Prevention Emphasis Period" was established in accordance with the Yangju City Ordinance on Industrial Accident Prevention and Support for Worker Safety and Health. The purpose is to intensively conduct publicity, education, and inspections for industrial accident prevention, thereby raising safety awareness among workers and employers and reducing accidents.
During this period, the city plans to actively implement on-site safety inspections and guidance, industrial accident prevention campaigns, safety and health education, and both online and offline promotional activities targeting industrial sites within its jurisdiction. In particular, the city will focus on spreading a culture of safety by utilizing various media such as banners and electronic displays, as well as campaigns involving citizens.
Jeong Misun, Director of the Job and Economy Division, stated, "Through this emphasis period, we will create a safe workplace environment where citizens and workers participate together," and called for the active interest and participation of both employers and workers.
Yangju City also plans to continue strengthening cooperation with related organizations and expanding support for industrial sites in the future, working toward building a sustainable safety system for the prevention of industrial accidents and the protection of workers.
