The corporation has revised its emergency response manuals tailored to on-site situations based on past incidents in which Ipobo Camping Site was flooded due to river overflow, and has been conducting related drills accordingly.
This drill was conducted with the aim of enhancing on-site response capabilities and establishing a cooperative emergency response system with relevant agencies to minimize casualties and property damage. More than 20 participants, including corporation employees, fire personnel, and city officials, took part, thereby increasing the focus and effectiveness of the drill.
The drill simulated a scenario involving a weather warning and a risk of flooding due to heavy rainfall, and was carried out in the following order: emergency broadcast announcements, evacuation and guidance of visitors, preemptive measures for hazardous facilities, control of flooded areas, and rescue of isolated individuals.
Im Myungjin, President of Yeoju Urban Corporation, stated, "Awareness and attitudes toward safety in everyday life are crucial for saving lives in crisis situations, which is why I prioritized this drill over other important schedules." He added, "We will promptly address any issues identified through this drill and do our utmost to ensure the safety of our visitors."
