The Korea Student Aid Foundation (Chairman Bae Byungil) announced that applications for the 2024 Education Benefit Voucher, which supports students from low-income families (recipients of educational benefits), will close at 10:00 p.m. on June 30. The Foundation once again urged all families who are eligible for educational benefits but have not yet applied to ensure they submit their applications.
The Korea Student Aid Foundation, established in 2009 as a quasi-governmental organization under the Ministry of Education, provides professional and comprehensive financial aid to ensure that everyone, regardless of economic circumstances, has the opportunity to pursue higher education according to their will and ability. With an annual budget exceeding 11 trillion won, the Foundation implements a variety of programs to foster future talent, including national scholarships, student loans, national work-study scholarships, national merit scholarships, as well as donations and mentoring initiatives.
As of June 19, the application rate for the 2024 Education Benefit Voucher was approximately 95%. The Foundation continues to send notification messages and provide guidance through its customer service center to ensure that the remaining 5% of eligible applicants who have not yet applied can still receive the voucher benefits. Those who have received application instructions are strongly encouraged to complete their applications immediately.
On the final day of applications, a high volume of users may make the website difficult to access. Therefore, families who have not yet applied for educational benefits are advised to complete their applications before the deadline. Additionally, applications cannot be submitted after the deadline, so any related inquiries should be made in advance through the Korea Student Aid Foundation's consultation center.
