Seodaemun-gu in Seoul will open the 'Seodaemun Ansan (Ansan) Lawn Yard' (134, Yeonhui-ro 32-gil) as a free public wedding venue every Saturday starting from September this year, aiming to ease the burden on citizens regarding wedding venue reservations and costs.

This venue covers an area of 851 square meters and can accommodate up to 50 people. It is located within the Ansan Yeonhui Forest Rest Area. In particular, cherry blossoms in the spring and autumn foliage create spectacular scenery.
Only one wedding will be held per day at this location, allowing ceremonies to proceed at a relaxed pace without time constraints. However, reservations will be restricted during the cherry blossom season in April, when many visitors come to enjoy the spring scenery, as well as on days when public events are held at this venue.
Prospective couples who reside in Seoul or have their daily life in Seoul, or whose father or mother is a resident of Seoul, can apply after a consultation via chat or phone (1899-2154) on the Seoul city 'A More Beautiful Wedding Venue' website starting from July 1. Seongheon Lee, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, "I hope many beautiful weddings will be held at the Seodaemun Ansan Lawn Yard in the forest," adding, "We will continue to provide comprehensive and customized support from meeting and marriage to childbirth, childrearing, and care."
Meanwhile, Seodaemun-gu also plans to hold the so-called 'Some-daemun' event, organized by the Seodaemun-gu Family Center, in the second half of this year at Hongje Waterfall and the Ansan area.
This event, which was held for the first time among Seoul's autonomous districts in April to facilitate meetings between single young men and women, received a great response, recording a recruitment competition rate of 8 to 1, a couple matching rate of 65%, and a satisfaction rate of 88%.
