The Third Resident Briefing Session Held Following Hongseong and Yesan

As Chungnam Province is pursuing administrative integration with Daejeon City, this time, opinions from residents were gathered in Cheonan, Chungnam.
The Daejeon-Chungnam Administrative Integration Public-Private Council held a resident briefing session of Cheonan City at Bongseo Hall in Cheonan City Hall on the 26th.
This was the third briefing session, following previous ones in Hongseong and Yesan. The event was attended by Kim Seokpil, Acting Mayor (Vice Mayor) of Cheonan, Kim Haenggeum, Chairperson of the Cheonan City Council, Yang Kyungmo, Head of the Communication Subcommittee of the Public-Private Council (Provincial Assembly Member), Shin Youngho, Chairperson of the Special Committee on Chungnam-Daejeon Administrative Integration of the Chungnam Provincial Council, as well as local residents and public officials, totaling around 600 participants.
The briefing session began with a presentation on the status of the Daejeon-Chungnam administrative integration by Ko Seunghee, Head of the Social Integration Research Office at the Chungnam Institute. This was followed by a talk concert discussing the justification and expected effects of administrative integration, as well as strategies for public discussion to gain resident consent.
The talk concert featured Yang Kyungmo and Shin Youngho, Professor Park Jonggwan of Baekseok University, Professor Lee Heeseong of Dankook University, and others, who shared a variety of perspectives.
After the talk concert, there was a Q&A session with the residents who participated in the briefing.
Yang Kyungmo emphasized, "If the Daejeon-Chungnam Special City is established, Cheonan is expected to secure momentum for key projects such as the National Industrial Complex for Future Mobility and the extension of the GTX-C line, and to further strengthen its position as a hub for advanced industries such as semiconductors and displays in South Korea."
The resident briefing sessions will continue, sequentially visiting all 15 cities and counties in the province until July 8.
