Namdong-gu, Incheon will open water playgrounds in local parks on June 28 to help residents cool off during the hot summer months.
The water playgrounds will be located at a total of seven sites: Seongri Children’s Park, Chanumul Neighborhood Park, Guwol Children’s Park, Small Guwol Children’s Park, Obong Neighborhood Park, Eoul Neighborhood Park, and Hanareum Neighborhood Park.
The facilities will operate daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. until August 24. All elementary school students aged 12 and under can use the playgrounds free of charge. The water playgrounds will be closed every Monday for facility inspections and cleaning, and will not operate on rainy days.
To ensure a safe play environment for children, the district will assign professional safety personnel at all times and conduct water quality inspections twice a month to maintain strict hygiene standards.
Park Jonghyo, Mayor of Namdong-gu, stated, "The water playgrounds are beloved summer destinations for residents during heat waves," and added, "This year, we will do our utmost to manage the facilities and prevent safety accidents so that children can enjoy the water playgrounds safely."
