"From 1 to 6 in Perfect Order"... A Rare Finishing Drama Unfolds at the Racetrack

Rare 'Numerical Order Finish' Scene
at the 8th Race of LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam

An unusual scene rarely witnessed at the racetrack has become a hot topic among racing fans.

At the 8th race held on June 20 at Korea Racing Authority's LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam (headed by Um Youngseok), racehorses numbered 1 through 6 crossed the finish line in exact order from first to sixth place.

In this race, a total of 11 horses competed. The horse with number 1, taking advantage of its inside position, quickly took the lead and dictated the pace of the race. Horses numbered 2 and 3 followed closely behind, and the race unfolded steadily without any changes in ranking. Even during the fierce battle for mid-pack positions around the final corner, the order remained unchanged. Ultimately, horses numbered 1 through 6 crossed the finish line in numerical order, creating a rare and remarkable scene.

When the results board displayed the numbers 1 through 5 in a row after the race, racing fans expressed surprise, saying, "I've never seen anything like this before." A racing expert commented, "Having watched thousands of races, it is extremely rare for horses to finish in exact numerical order like this," adding, "In a race with 11 horses, the probability of horses numbered 1 through 5 finishing in order is only about 0.0018%."

Horse racing is more than just predicting the winner. Second place is regarded as a promising contender for future races, while third place is seen as an indicator of strong competitiveness. Prize money is awarded up to fifth place, and these rankings serve as important benchmarks for assessing the potential of horses, jockeys, and stables.

This race offered racing fans the rare enjoyment of an unusual finishing combination, once again demonstrating the 'unpredictable drama' that sports can create.

A Korea Racing Authority official stated, "Such rare finishing orders are symbolic examples of the unique appeal of horse racing," and added, "We will continue to engage with fans through a variety of attractions and stories."
