Collecting Agricultural Waste at Farms Affiliated with Ungdong Nonghyup
Supporting Rural Communities with Volunteer Labor
The Gyeongnam Regional Guarantee Center of the Agricultural, Fishery and Rural Community Credit Guarantee Fund (hereinafter referred to as Nongshinbo) carried out a rural volunteer activity on June 26 at a local farmer's field in Sosa-dong, Jinhae-gu, together with Ungdong Nonghyup.
On this day, Nonghyup executives and employees who participated in the rural volunteer work visited farms within the Ungdong Nonghyup area that are struggling with a shortage of labor. They worked hard to collect various types of agricultural waste, such as discarded vinyl and pesticide containers.
Roh Hoyoung, head of the cooperative, stated, "Currently, rural communities are facing many difficulties due to labor shortages caused by population decline and aging. This was a valuable opportunity to truly appreciate the hard work of our farmers."
Choi Jeongin, head of the center, said, "For 23 years, we have maintained a sisterhood relationship with Ungdong Nonghyup. As partners in a continuous win-win agreement, we will do our utmost to fulfill our role in helping to alleviate the labor shortage in rural areas, even if only a little."
