Gyeonggi Province will expand the number of hydrogen charging stations to 60 by next year.
On June 26, Gyeonggi Province announced that by the end of this year, it will open five hydrogen charging stations for commercial vehicles in Suwon, Yongin, Hwaseong, and Pyeongtaek, as well as four hydrogen charging stations for passenger vehicles in Hwaseong, Anseong, Yongin, and Seongnam, respectively. The province also revealed plans to increase the total number of hydrogen charging stations to 60 by next year.
Jung Hankyu, Director of the Advanced Mobility Industry Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Expanding hydrogen charging stations is a key factor in accelerating the adoption of hydrogen electric vehicles," and added, "We will lead the popularization of hydrogen mobility by expanding the hydrogen charging infrastructure."
Meanwhile, on June 26, Gyeonggi Province opened the Pyeongtaek Mogok Hydrogen Charging Station. This is the fifth hydrogen charging station for commercial vehicles, following those in Ansan Bono, Goyang Daehwa, Seongnam Sasong, and Ansan Hydrogen Transportation Complex Base.
This hydrogen charging station is equipped with a total of four chargers and is capable of refueling up to 240 hydrogen buses per day.
Hydrogen electric vehicle users can check real-time information on the location, price, operating hours, and the number of waiting vehicles at hydrogen charging stations nationwide through the Hydrogen Distribution Information System Hying (www.h2nbiz.or.kr), which is operated by the Korea Petroleum Management Institute.
