Starting on June 28 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province will hold the "Art on the Streets" performances in all 31 cities and counties in the province through November.
The "Art on the Streets" program is an arts policy initiative by Gyeonggi Province that provides local artists with platforms to perform, aiming to offer residents more opportunities to experience performing arts in their daily lives. The program features a variety of street performances and exhibitions, including music, dance, magic, and visits to underserved facilities.
This year's first performance will take place at Hwajeong Station Culture Square in Goyang, where artists and groups will present samulnori, popular music, musical gala shows, and fusion classical performances for local residents.
No reservations are required, and anyone can enjoy the performances on-site. Kwak Sunmi, Director of Arts Policy at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Art on the Streets is a program that allows artists to enjoy creative freedom and enables residents to naturally encounter art in their everyday lives," adding, "We will continue to promote public value through the arts in the future."
