At this meeting, participants shared the progress made since Hoeamsaji was selected for UNESCO's World Heritage Tentative List in March. They also discussed action plans and cooperation matters for each area, including academic research, preservation and management, and promotion, all aimed at achieving registration. The need for close collaboration among teams was emphasized to ensure the efficient advancement of the registration process.
In May, the city organized the Promotion Team with the Director of the Welfare and Culture Bureau as the head and the Director of the Cultural Tourism Division as the deputy head. The working-level operations are handled by the World Heritage Promotion Team, the Heritage Affairs Team, and the Museum Team.
Kim Eunmi, Director of the Welfare and Culture Bureau, stated, "We will regularize the Promotion Team meetings to systematically manage the registration process and also ensure prompt responses at the working level."
The Yangju Hoeamsaji site has begun full-scale preparations to carry out the UNESCO World Heritage preliminary evaluation procedures.
