Kim Tae-heum, Governor of Chungnam Province, Signs 'Mutual Growth Agreement' with Dangjin City and Hyundai Steel
General Hospital with 200 Beds... Consulting Study to Be Conducted by Next Year
Hyundai Steel is planning to establish a general hospital and an autonomous private high school in Songsan, Dangjin, Chungnam Province.
On June 25, Kim Tae-heum, Governor of Chungnam Province, signed a mutual growth agreement at the provincial government situation room with Oh Seong-hwan, Mayor of Dangjin, and Seo Kang-hyun, CEO of Hyundai Steel.
According to the agreement, Hyundai Steel will pursue the establishment of a general hospital and an autonomous private high school within the residential complex of Songsan 2 General Industrial Complex in Yugok-ri, Songsan-myeon, Dangjin City, in order to improve settlement conditions and create a desirable urban environment.
The general hospital is expected to be built on a 14,370-square-meter site with a capacity of 200 beds. The autonomous private high school will be established on a 13,075-square-meter site, and a consulting study will be conducted by next year.
The provincial government expects that the establishment of the general hospital and the autonomous private high school will result in several benefits: strengthening emergency medical care for industrial accident patients and others, eliminating healthcare blind spots in the region, improving the health of local residents and workers, enhancing settlement conditions, fostering local talent, strengthening regional competitiveness, and revitalizing the Bay Valley and the Free Economic Zone.
Governor Kim stated, "Dangjin is experiencing increasing demand for medical and educational services due to a high birth rate and population influx, but the related infrastructure is severely lacking. If this opportunity leads to the establishment of a general hospital and an autonomous private high school, it will boost regional revitalization and the attraction of outstanding talent by improving settlement conditions."
