Dong-Eui University Graduate School of National Security Policy and Army 53rd Division Join Forces for Defense and Security Education and Research

The Graduate School of National Security Policy at Dong-Eui University, led by Dean Kim Sangwon, has joined hands with the Army 53rd Division to cultivate professionals in the fields of defense and security and to strengthen policy research.

On June 19, Dong-Eui University announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Army 53rd Division (Chief of Staff Kang Kyungsik) on June 11 to promote educational and research cooperation in the fields of defense and security.

The signing ceremony was held at the 53rd Division and was attended by Kim Sangwon, Dean of the Graduate School of National Security Policy at Dong-Eui University, Vice Dean Joo Sungbin, Professor Lee Gwanghyun of the Department of Security Studies, as well as Kang Kyungsik, Chief of Staff of the Army 53rd Division, Lieutenant Colonel Cha Dol, Major Kim Jaehyung, and other representatives from both institutions.

Through this agreement, the two sides have agreed to cooperate in the following areas: mutual exchange of academic information and facilities; joint research and seminars in the fields of security and counterterrorism; education and technical support for professionals; provision of virtual education environments based on VR and XR; support for field training and operations such as shooting; and operation of a practical consultative body.

Kim Sangwon, Dean of the Graduate School of National Security Policy at Dong-Eui University, stated, "Based on our cooperation with the 53rd Division, a local military unit, we will strengthen practical connections with organizations responsible for regional safety, including disaster response, meteorology, security, defense, and public order." He added, "We will continue our efforts to develop policies and cultivate professionals to enhance the safety of the local community."
