On June 25 at 11:00 a.m., Yeongyang County held the '75th Anniversary Ceremony of the Korean War' at the Yeongyang County Culture and Sports Center.
Approximately 300 people attended the ceremony, including the Yeongyang County Governor, the Chairman of the County Council, officials from veterans' organizations, Korean War veterans, and bereaved families. The event was a meaningful occasion to honor the noble sacrifice of the fallen patriots and veterans who dedicated themselves to the country during the Korean War.
The event began with a promotional video commemorating Patriots and Veterans Month, followed by the national ceremony, commendations for exemplary contributors, commemorative and congratulatory speeches, three cheers for the nation, and a group singing of the Korean War song.
Through this event, the honor and pride of Korean War veterans and their families were elevated, and the noble sacrifice of the fallen soldiers who gave their lives for the country was remembered and respected.
County Governor Oh Dochang emphasized, "The Republic of Korea exists today because of the noble sacrifices of the war heroes who devoted themselves to the country in the face of the historic hardships of the Korean War. We will remember their names to the end, and we will continue to move forward to protect a peaceful and free Republic of Korea."
This ceremony served as a meaningful time to commemorate past sacrifices, reflect on present peace, and continue the legacy of remembrance with future generations. It is being evaluated as an event that resonated with and moved the attendees.
Yeongyang County plans to continue to implement various projects to promote veterans' culture, as well as provide practical respect and support for national merit recipients and their families.
