Bukgu has achieved a budget of 1 trillion won for six consecutive years, won a total of 740 public contests, and secured 300 billion won in project funding. The district also ranked first nationwide in the innovation assessment and received the highest grade (SA) for three consecutive years in the public pledge implementation evaluation. Bukgu is also revitalizing the economy through the issuance of local currency, support for small business owners, and dispatching overseas trade delegations.
Funds totaling 139.3 billion won, secured through disaster prevention contests, have been invested in improving flood-prone areas such as Munheung-dong. The district is also addressing population decline and youth outflow by establishing a Youth Future Policy Office, providing paternity leave incentives, and supporting youth employment and entrepreneurship.
Efforts to create an ecological city are also underway. The registration of Pyeongdume Wetland as a Ramsar site, the creation of an ecological forest experience trail, and the expansion of living SOCs are improving residents' quality of life. The establishment of the Mudeung Literature Award and K-culture programs has also strengthened the cultural foundation.
Mayor Munin stated, "Based on a foundation for sustainable growth, we will transform the lives of our residents," and added, "Together with over 1,700 public officials, we will create a Bukgu where residents are happy."
