Seocho District Completes 9-Hole Park Golf Course at Cheonggyesan Waterside Park

Creating a Healthy Space for All Generations to Enjoy Together

Seocho District in Seoul announced on June 25 that it has opened the Cheonggyesan Waterside Park Golf Course, a space designed for three generations to communicate and enjoy together. The completion ceremony was held on June 24.

Park golf, which has recently gained popularity nationwide, is a recreational sport that is easy for anyone to learn, regardless of age or gender. It is increasingly recognized as a family-friendly activity space where not only seniors but also parents and children can enjoy together.

The new park golf course consists of a total of 9 holes (approximately 4,800 square meters) and is located within Cheonggyesan Waterside Park. It has been designed to blend naturally with the existing park, allowing anyone to enjoy the game in a pleasant natural environment without burden. During the initial opening period in July and August, only some holes will be available to allow the grass to take root. From September, all holes will be operated on a trial basis, with full-scale official operation scheduled for the first half of next year.

Starting in September, the course will be open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on Mondays. Usage is limited to two hours per team. The fee is 8,000 won for Seocho residents and 12,000 won for non-residents. Reservations can be made by phone. Various programs will be offered, including weekly physical education classes in collaboration with Naegok Middle School and park golf classes for children. In addition, a priority reservation system will be provided for families of two or more generations, making the facility a space for intergenerational integration.

Seocho District has promoted a variety of sports-for-all programs to ensure that residents of all ages can enjoy healthy leisure activities throughout the year. Last year, screen park golf facilities were established at the Banpo Sports Center (1 bay) and Naegok Neutinamu Rest Area (4 bays). Since June 14, a new indoor screen park golf facility (2 bays) has also been installed and is in operation on the first floor of the Seocho Sports Complex.

Jeon Seongsoo, Mayor of Seocho District, stated, "Cheonggyesan Waterside Park Golf Course is a family-friendly sports space where all generations can enjoy, communicate, and take care of their health together. We will continue to pay close attention to ensure that residents can enjoy their desired leisure activities anytime and anywhere."
