A delegation from Gyeonggi Province, led by Vice Governor for Economic Affairs Ko Youngin, is attending the '2025 Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC 2025)' held in Tianjin, China until June 26.
Since 2007, the World Economic Forum has alternated between Dalian and Tianjin in China, bringing together over 1,500 entrepreneurs and government leaders from around the world to discuss entrepreneurship and innovation. Due to its size and influence, it is also known as the 'Summer Davos.'
This year's event is themed 'Entrepreneurship for a New Era' and features a variety of sessions across five key topics: investment in people and the planet, outlook on China, industrial transformation, global economic literacy, and new energy and materials.
The Gyeonggi Province delegation will participate in official sessions, host a meeting with leading domestic startups, and engage in in-depth discussions with World Economic Forum officials on future avenues for cooperation.
Gyeonggi Province expects that this annual meeting will serve as an opportunity to showcase the competitiveness of innovative companies from the province on the international stage and to establish a practical global network.
Ko Youngin, Vice Governor for Economic Affairs of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Participation in this year's AMNC will be a meaningful opportunity for companies recognized for their innovation and growth potential to take a step forward on the global stage and begin their journey toward becoming unicorns."
Meanwhile, in January of this year, Gyeonggi Province, in cooperation with the World Economic Forum, established the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Korea (C4IR Korea) in Pangyo, marking the 21st center in the world and the first in Korea. The center will serve as a hub for disseminating cutting-edge information in Korea by spreading the latest insights from the World Economic Forum and others through its self-developed online knowledge hub (koreago.net) and newsletter.
