Ok made his KPGA Tour debut in 2018 and had not managed to secure a win for a long time, but finally lifted his first trophy last week at the KPGA Championship held at A-One CC in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province. This emotional victory came in his 125th KPGA Tour event, or 131st tournament overall including those before his official debut.

This season, Ok has consistently performed well, finishing in the top 10 six times?the most on the KPGA Tour. He currently leads in Genesis Award points (3,940.9 points), total prize money (622.11 million won), and scoring average (69.35 strokes). If Ok, who is having his best season, secures another win, he will further solidify his presence as the top player on tour this year. He has participated in the Gunsan CC Open seven times, with his best finish being a tie for fourth place in 2023.

Ok stated, "Since I won, my momentum and confidence are high, but my primary goal is still to make the cut," adding, "Consistent results throughout the season are important for the Genesis points race, so my first objective is to advance past the cut."

The Gunsan CC Open offers a basic total prize fund of 700 million won, with the winner’s share set at 140 million won. In addition, proceeds from gallery tickets for rounds 1 to 3, as well as food, beverage, and souvenir sales, are added to the prize pool. Last year, the final total prize fund reached 979.29 million won, with the winner’s share at 195.85 million won.
