Through a press release on the same day, Special Prosecutor Cho stated, "We have requested an arrest warrant for former President Yoon on charges including obstruction of special official duties."

Special Prosecutor Cho explained, "He refused to comply with police summons twice, and after the special prosecutor's investigation began on June 18, he again refused to appear on June 19 and has since made it clear that he will not respond to further summons. Taking into account the continuity of the case, the special prosecutor, who took over the case on June 23, decided to request an arrest warrant in order to question the suspect."
