Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor: Joo Kwangdeok) announced on June 24 that it will hold a resident briefing session related to the detailed design of Suseok Bridge at 2:00 p.m. on June 27 at the Jeong Yak-yong Library performance hall.
This briefing session has been organized to provide citizens with accurate information about the Suseok Bridge construction project, which is a key component of the metropolitan transportation improvement measures for Wangsuk New Town in Namyangju, and to gather a wide range of opinions on the design proposal.
Anyone can attend the resident briefing session by visiting the venue in person without prior registration.
Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), the project implementer, will explain the current status of the project, the design direction, and the future schedule. There will also be a Q&A session with citizens.
Suseok Bridge will connect Suseok-dong in Namyangju City and Seon-dong in Hanam City. The bridge will be 794 meters long and 24.9 meters wide. The project also includes the expansion of Olympic-daero from Seondong IC in Hanam City to Gangil IC in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, along with the construction of the bridge.
The total project cost is 380.1 billion won, with Wangsuk District bearing 266.1 billion won and Yangjeong District covering 114 billion won.
The city plans to broadly collect residents' opinions through this briefing session and further refine the design proposal with the goals of improving the transportation environment and enhancing citizens' quality of life.
Mayor Joo Kwangdeok stated, "The proactive establishment of transportation infrastructure is a critical task for the successful development of Wangsuk New Town, and the prompt implementation of Suseok Bridge is central to this effort. I ask for your active participation and feedback, as your opinions will be of great help in determining the future direction of the design. We appreciate your interest and cooperation."
