Rain to Continue Until Early Morning of the 26th
in Eastern Gyeonggi, Gangwon, and Northern North Chungcheong
On Wednesday, June 25, rain is expected to fall across most regions nationwide before stopping. However, in eastern Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon Province, and northern North Chungcheong Province, rain is forecast to continue in some areas until the early morning of June 26.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on June 24, the rain that had been falling in southern Gyeonggi Province, southern inland Gangwon Province, the Chungcheong region, and southern regions is expected to expand to Seoul, Incheon, northern Gyeonggi Province, and Gangwon Province starting at night. This rain will continue until the early morning of June 25 in the Jeonnam region and western Jeonbuk, until the afternoon in eastern Jeonbuk and the Gyeongnam region, and until the night in other regions, before mostly stopping.
In the Gyeongsang region, heavy rain of 10 to 20 millimeters per hour is expected in some areas until the early morning of June 25. In the Seoul metropolitan area, similar heavy rainfall is expected in some areas until the afternoon. Some regions may also experience gusty winds, thunder, and lightning, so caution is advised.
Temperatures on June 25 and 26 are expected to be similar to the seasonal averages (morning lows of 17 to 20 degrees Celsius, daytime highs of 24 to 28 degrees Celsius). On June 25, morning lows are forecast to range from 18 to 22 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs from 23 to 28 degrees Celsius.
The expected minimum and maximum temperatures in major cities are as follows: Seoul, 21 and 25 degrees; Incheon, 20 and 24 degrees; Daejeon, 21 and 24 degrees; Gwangju, 20 and 26 degrees; Daegu, 21 and 28 degrees; Ulsan, 21 and 27 degrees; and Busan, 21 and 26 degrees.
The Korea Meteorological Administration emphasized that from June 24 to 25, some areas over most seas may experience gusty winds, thunder, and lightning, and urged caution to prevent maritime safety accidents.
