Check Eligibility on the 'Car Recall Center' Website

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on June 25 that "a total of 14,708 vehicles across 19 models manufactured, imported, or sold by four companies?Jaguar Land Rover Korea, Hyundai Motor Company, GS Global, and GM Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters?have been found to have defects and will be subject to a voluntary recall (corrective action)." The ministry added, "Vehicle owners can check whether their cars are subject to the recall on the 'Car Recall Center' website."

The largest group of vehicles subject to recall is from Jaguar Land Rover Korea. A total of 10,878 vehicles across 12 models?including 8,588 units of the 'Discovery 4 3.0D' and 930 units of the 'Range Rover Sport 3.0D'?were found to have weak durability in the coupling components used for towing trailers or other vehicles, which may cause the connection to come loose while driving. The recall for these vehicles will begin on July 4.

For Hyundai, 1,473 units of the 'Avante' and 1,082 units of the 'i30' are being recalled due to a problem where the inflator, the gas-generating device that deploys the driver’s airbag, may break and cause injury to occupants. This defect was identified in Avante models manufactured between October 31, 2008, and July 30, 2009, and in i30 models manufactured between October 2, 2008, and February 13, 2009. Hyundai has been conducting the recall since June 10.

In addition, 629 units of the medium-sized electric bus 'County Electric' are being recalled due to a design flaw in the parking brake component, which may cause the vehicle to roll when parked on a slope. The recall began on June 19.

For GS Global, 344 units of Chinese electric buses, including the 'NEW BYD eBus-12', are being recalled because the high-voltage battery mounting device is weak, which may cause insulation issues or fire if the battery cells and tray come into contact while driving. The recall has been underway since June 12.

GM Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters is recalling 302 units of the Cadillac electric vehicle 'Lyriq', manufactured between August 24, 2022, and June 26, 2024, due to a software error that can cause the instrument panel and display to turn off. The recall will begin on June 27.
