A Total of 13,034 People and 20,199 Cases of Damage Claims Received
Kumho Tire (CEO Jung Iltaek) announced on the 24th that it will close its own compensation claim registration by the 30th.
Kumho Tire, together with Gwangsan District in Gwangju, accepted damage claims from residents from the 19th to the 28th of last month, starting just two days after the Gwangju Plant accident occurred on the 17th of last month.

For those who were unable to submit their claims within the initial period, or to fulfill its social responsibility for additional damages, the company immediately conducted a second round of claim registration from the 29th of last month to the 13th of this month.
As a result of accepting claims for a total of 22 days, 13,034 people submitted 20,199 cases of damage. Kumho Tire provided these individuals with information on procedures, required documents, and criteria via individual text messages and registered mail.
Compensation claims can be submitted both online and offline until the 30th. On-site registration is available on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the reception desk on the first floor of the welfare building at the Kumho Tire Gwangju Plant. Online registration can be completed through a popup notice on the Kumho Tire website. The online system has been set up so that residents can submit claims easily without logging in.
A Kumho Tire representative stated, "We are doing our best to restore normal operations at the plant as quickly as possible and to help nearby residents affected by the fire return to their daily lives," adding, "We urge everyone who has reported damages to make sure to submit their compensation claims by the 30th."
