Gokseong County Holds "Driver's License Renewal" Mobile Education for Elderly Drivers Gokseong County held a "Driver's License Renewal" mobile education session for elderly drivers aged 75 and over at the Leisure Culture Center on the 23rd. Provided by Gokseong County

Gokseong County (Governor Cho Sangrae) announced on the 24th that it held a "Driver's License Renewal" mobile education session for elderly drivers aged 75 and over, who are eligible for license renewal in 2025, at the Leisure Culture Center on the 23rd.

Amid a recent series of traffic accidents involving elderly drivers, Gokseong County has been operating mobile education centers, significantly contributing to resolving license-related civil complaints and improving convenience for elderly residents who have difficulty traveling long distances.

This session was organized for seniors who find it difficult to take online courses and provided a one-stop service that allowed participants to complete the submission of license renewal documents on-site on the same day.

The program was carried out in cooperation with Gokseong County, the Gokseong County Senior Citizens’ Association, and the Korea Road Traffic Authority, reflecting the opinions of local elderly residents who are not familiar with using the internet or who have mobility challenges. Participating seniors received safe driving education, including self-assessments of cognitive and physical abilities, and expressed satisfaction as they were able to fulfill the legal completion requirements immediately upon finishing the session.

A Gokseong County official stated, "This education session was prepared not only as a simple completion procedure, but also to raise traffic safety awareness among seniors and provide practical assistance," adding, "We will continue to work with related organizations such as the Korea Road Traffic Authority to prevent traffic accidents involving elderly drivers."
