Let's Create a Safe Everyday Life Free from Violence Against Women Together
The Yangsan City Committee for the Prevention of Violence Against Women conducted a campaign to eradicate violence against women on June 24 in the Seochang area, targeting local residents.
This campaign was held as a joint initiative by the Gyeongnam region of the National Council of Domestic Violence Counseling Centers. It was organized as part of efforts to raise awareness of violence against women throughout the local community and to improve public perception of the issue.
The campaign, which began at 11 a.m. that day, featured participants marching through the Seochang Market area with placards promoting the prevention of violence against women. They distributed informational materials and promotional items to inform citizens about the importance of preventing violence against women.
Earlier this year, in March, Yangsan City also conducted a campaign for public officials to prevent violence against women. At that time, the city distributed educational materials on sexual harassment prevention and promotional items, emphasizing the role of the public sector in fostering a healthy workplace culture.
The city plans to continue implementing a variety of campaigns to eradicate violence against women and will spare no policy effort to create an urban environment where women and children can live in safety and security.
Lee Seongmi, head of the Women and Youth Division, stated, "Following the campaign targeting the public sector, this campaign for the general public is also extremely important." She added, "We hope that the interest and active participation of every citizen will help establish a healthy, violence-free social culture as a part of everyday life."
