Gwangju Volunteer Center Launches Campaign for Successful Archery Championships

The Gwangju Volunteer Center held a "Daejabo (Public Transportation·Bicycle·Walking) Campaign" on the 24th around the Sangmu Station intersection in Seo-gu to wish for the successful hosting of the "Gwangju 2025 Hyundai World (Disability) Archery Championships."

This campaign was organized to raise public awareness of the upcoming World (Disability) Archery Championships, which will be held in September, and to foster a citywide promotional atmosphere.

Approximately 40 volunteers from the Bitgoeul Sarang Volunteer Group participated in the campaign and engaged with citizens. The volunteers actively encouraged participation by explaining the significance and schedule of the event, as well as the city vision of "Resonance of Peace, Kind Gwangju."

They also promoted the recruitment of supporters for various activities such as cheering at the stadium and welcoming and sending off the teams, while encouraging the use of Daejabo. In particular, they carried out green transportation initiatives in conjunction with "Public Transportation Day." Starting with this campaign, the center plans to continue implementing a variety of citizen participation programs leading up to the World (Disability) Archery Championships.

Ryu Misoo, Director of the Gwangju Volunteer Center, stated, "The interest and participation of each and every citizen is the foundation for the success of international events," adding, "Together with our volunteers, we will promote the image of a kind and peaceful Gwangju both domestically and internationally."
