On June 24, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced that it had conducted the "United through Veterans Affairs" consolation project in the mayor’s reception room, expressing gratitude and respect to those who have sacrificed and dedicated themselves to the nation. As part of this project, 13 local companies and organizations donated 3,100 sets of food and daily necessities (worth approximately 73 million won) as consolation gifts.
BNK Gyeongnam Bank and the Changwon branch of NH Nonghyup Bank participated as sponsors for the third consecutive year, while 11 other organizations?including companies, hospitals, and religious groups?also joined the consolation project for the Month of Patriots and Veterans.
This social contribution activity included participation from: Monggo Foods, Changwon Hanmaeum Hospital, Changwon Fatima Hospital, BNK Gyeongnam Bank, Dongseo Foods Changwon Plant, JK Convention Wedding, Yanggok Church, NH Nonghyup Bank Changwon Branch, Mark, Eunhye Hospital, Donggwang Church, Junam Ori-al, and Wonjo Panmunjeom. These organizations are recognized as role models in the community for regularly practicing sharing with marginalized neighbors.
The donated consolation gifts will be delivered to 1,500 low-income national merit recipients and veterans’ families in the area through the Gyeongnam General Social Welfare Center.
Jang Geumyong, acting mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "I deeply appreciate the local businesses, hospitals, financial institutions, and religious organizations for coming together with one heart to express their gratitude to national merit recipients," adding, "The city will also continue to make efforts to ensure that those who have served the nation receive the honor and respect they deserve."
