This agreement aims to facilitate the smooth progress of the Investment Leading District development project, a public contest project by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and to establish a foundation for cooperation with private companies. It is significant in that both parties will jointly explore the potential for commercialization in relevant fields and ways to connect with the local community.
Through this agreement, both sides will keep open the possibility of cooperation in various fields related to the creation of the Investment Leading District, and plan to continue discussions on concrete implementation and realization plans according to future conditions.
Through this agreement, Harim Co., Ltd. has expressed its support for Namwon City's direction in developing the Investment Leading District. The company is expected to cooperate with Namwon City in areas such as: strategic cooperation to attract public institutions and companies; establishing a food service (FS) and food material supply system; prioritizing the use of Namwon smart farms and local agricultural products; and creating jobs and revitalizing the local economy through local workforce recruitment.
In particular, the agreement also includes cooperation on establishing a meal service system for public institution staff and local company employees, expanding the use of local food materials, developing joint brands, and connecting distribution networks. This is expected to create the potential for collaboration with various industry sectors in the region in the future.
The city is currently developing the area around Namwon Station, where the KTX and Dalbit Railway intersect, as a multi-functional hub that integrates transportation, industry, and residential functions.
The city plans to link regionally specialized industries such as smart farms, logistics, and food materials with the attraction of public institutions to promote private investment, create jobs, and improve living conditions. Through these efforts, the city aims to revitalize the stagnant local economy and lay the foundation for becoming the economic center of the Jirisan area.
Mayor Choi Kyungsik said, "This agreement marks the first step toward mutual growth, as Namwon City and businesses work together to shape the future. We look forward to continued cooperation so that the Investment Leading District can become a new growth engine for the region."
A representative from Harim Co., Ltd. also stated, "We support the city's policy direction and future vision, and will continue to pursue a mutually beneficial relationship based on the potential for various forms of cooperation."
