"Youth Culture and Arts Pass, Use It Soon"...Support Funds to Be Reclaimed If Unused

If There Is No Usage Record by June 30, Funds Will Be Reclaimed
If Used at Least Once, Funds Can Be Used Until the End of the Year

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Arts Council Korea have announced that they will reclaim the unused portion of the Youth Culture and Arts Pass, which was issued at the beginning of the year, as of June 30. They urged recipients to use the funds promptly.

"Youth Culture and Arts Pass, Use It Soon"...Support Funds to Be Reclaimed If Unused

The Youth Culture and Arts Pass is a program that provides up to 150,000 won per year in cultural expenses to 19-year-olds (those born in 2006).

The first round of issuance closed on May 13, and the funds issued during this round can be used until December 31. However, if there is no record of usage by June 30, based on the reservation date, the entire support fund will be reclaimed.

This measure is intended to prevent situations where unused funds limit opportunities for other applicants who wish to participate. If the support fund is reclaimed in the first half of the year, reapplication during the second round of issuance in July will be restricted.

The Youth Culture and Arts Pass program holds a customized event once a month to help young people develop cultural and artistic preferences and provide diverse experiences. In May, a character naming contest for the Youth Culture and Arts Pass program was held, and until June 30, a transportation cost support event is underway. One hundred winners will be selected by lottery and receive Naver Points equivalent to the transportation costs used for attending performances and exhibitions. Through the first reservation event for the Youth Culture and Arts Pass, which runs until July 13, a 20,000-won Baemin (Baedal Minjok) online gift card will be awarded to winners by lottery.

News and information about the Youth Culture and Arts Pass program, as well as discounted performances and exhibitions for users, can be found on the Youth Culture and Arts Pass website.
