The event was attended by more than 90 participants, including President Sanghoon Bae, professors in charge of specialized fields, corporate representatives, and staff from project-related departments. Chanjung Kim, head of the Rise Project Operations Headquarters, presented the implementation goals and operational plans for each detailed project and conducted a Q&A session.

This year, National Pukyong University secured a total budget of 10.27 billion KRW as a research-oriented university for the Busan City Rise Project. The university will carry out a variety of initiatives to foster research talent and strengthen research and development capabilities in order to lead the region's future industries.

Under the leadership of Vice President Myungshin Ha, head of the Rise Project Group, National Pukyong University has formed a project group consisting of 31 members across 5 departments to implement a total of 21 detailed projects. The university has selected Blue Food Tech and Energy Tech as specialized fields and will focus on restructuring related graduate school curricula, promoting industry-academia joint technology development with local companies, attracting international students, and establishing an open entrepreneurship university in collaboration with universities in Nam-gu.

Through these efforts, the university aims to achieve its goals of talent innovation, industrial innovation, social innovation, and university innovation by training 500 research talents, achieving 2 billion KRW in technology transfer, attracting 3,000 international students, and bringing in 300 resident companies over the next five years.

On this day, National Pukyong University also explained the 'PKNU Moonshot Project' implementation plan, an independent university initiative linked to the Rise Project. The Moonshot Project is one of President Sanghoon Bae's pledges.

The university plans to provide 900 million KRW from its own budget to five future new industry projects aimed at nurturing unicorn companies through a co-growth system between regional small and medium-sized enterprises and the university. Additionally, it will allocate 230 million KRW to 15 humanities and social sciences projects designed to address local issues.

President Sanghoon Bae of National Pukyong University stated, "Despite changes in higher education policy under the new government, the Rise Project is expected to expand further," and added, "Through the capabilities and passion of our university, we will present the PKNU Rise model and actively contribute to regional innovation."
