Through this Mat-Daheum Project, Hyundai Green Food plans to purchase a total of 135 tons of Seosan sea breeze potatoes from local farms. Seosan sea breeze potatoes are a representative specialty of Seosan, grown in the fertile and well-drained sandy loam at the foot of Palbongsan Mountain and nurtured by the sea breeze from Garorim Bay.
Hyundai Green Food intends to use Seosan sea breeze potatoes at over 600 group meal service sites nationwide. For the month of July, special menus featuring Seosan sea breeze potatoes?such as 'Pork and Potato Butter Rice Bowl,' 'Potato Cream Gnocchi,' 'Cheese Potato Pancake Bibim Noodles,' and 'Perilla Oil Boneless Potato Stew & Potato Noodles'?will be specially offered.
To further promote Seosan sea breeze potatoes, Hyundai Green Food will also operate customer participation activities, such as holding prize draw events and setting up photo zones in staff cafeterias, to encourage participation among client company employees. The prizes will include Seosan sea breeze potatoes and another Seosan specialty, Tteumbugi rice.
Starting with Seosan sea breeze potatoes, Hyundai Green Food is currently in discussions with production regions of other agricultural products commonly used in group meals, such as radishes and lettuce, to collaborate with various local governments and public institutions and operate the Mat-Daheum Project year-round.
A Hyundai Green Food representative stated, "We plan to continue operating the Mat-Daheum Project beyond this year to contribute to the development of the domestic agricultural and marine product ecosystem," adding, "As we operate a variety of food-related businesses, we will continue to plan and implement diverse and sincere ESG management activities that leverage our core business strengths."
