[Breaking] Trump: "Israel-Iran Ceasefire... '12-Day War' to End in 24 Hours"

On June 23 (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a ceasefire had been reached between Israel and Iran, and that the armed conflict between the two countries is expected to officially end on June 25.

President Trump wrote on his own social networking service, Truth Social, that "Israel and Iran have agreed to a full and comprehensive ceasefire for 12 hours," adding, "This ceasefire will begin six hours after Israel and Iran complete their ongoing final operations and withdraw."

Previously, President Trump had referred to this conflict as the "12-day war" and mentioned its official end. He stated, "Iran will officially begin the ceasefire, and at 12 o'clock, Israel will start its ceasefire. At 24 o'clock, the 12-day war will be officially over, and the world will welcome it."

This suggests that Iran will initiate a 12-hour ceasefire first, followed by Israel joining the ceasefire for the next 12 hours, bringing the war to a complete end on June 25. Israel's airstrikes on Iran began on June 13. If the war ends on June 25, as President Trump mentioned, it will have lasted exactly 12 days.

President Trump stated, "This war could have lasted for years and could have destroyed the entire Middle East," emphasizing, "That did not happen, and it will never happen."
