Film Festival Field Campus to Launch... Dongseo University and Busan International Film Festival to Jointly Operate "Ji-San-Hak-Yeon"

Dongseo University and the Busan International Film Festival are moving beyond industry-academia cooperation to establish the "Ji-San-Hak-Yeon Field Campus," which will involve local governments and research institutions.

Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) and the Busan International Film Festival (Chairman Park Kwangsoo) announced on the 23rd that they had signed an agreement for joint operation on the 18th at the Dongseo University New Millennium Hall Global Room. They agreed to create a practice-oriented educational ecosystem and build a field-based cooperation model.

Through this agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in the following areas: operation of collaborative classes for problem-solving practical education; joint research and development (R&D) of industry demand-based projects; exchange of human and material resources; and the creation of a shared cooperative ecosystem.

President Jang Jeguk stated, "It is meaningful to establish a closer relationship with the Busan International Film Festival, with whom we have interacted through programs such as BAFA (BIF Asia Film Academy). This will not only strengthen our students' practical skills but also provide a valuable opportunity for the development of local culture and the arts."

Chairman Park Kwangsoo also commented, "Dongseo University is a film education institution with a creative curriculum and an excellent faculty. I hope the festival will also use this as an opportunity for a new leap forward, and that students will grow as filmmakers through diverse experiences."

Under the agreement, Dongseo University students will have the opportunity during the Busan International Film Festival in September to publicly pitch their own intellectual property (IP) projects to industry experts and audiences, and realize industry-academia linked creative models.
