Recently, controversy has arisen over so-called "Kagongjok" (people who study for exams at cafes) causing inconvenience at a Starbucks location by setting up personal partitions and leaving their seats unattended for over three hours.

On the 23rd, Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University shared on his social media account, "A local Starbucks 'outing villain' is becoming a hot topic on social media after work. The photo posted with the headline is also drawing attention overseas, which is concerning."

The photo shows a partition installed at a Starbucks store in Korea, with a headset, keyboard, mouse, and tablet set up on the table. The netizen who shared the situation on social media pointed out, "They always reserve seats like this and are never actually there," adding, "On this day, during the three hours I stayed, they never returned to their seat even once."

Another netizen posted a photo and reported, "I witnessed someone engaging in such behavior after ordering only a single banana for 1,500 won, without purchasing any coffee or drinks."

Professor Seo Kyung-duk stated, "Such inconsiderate behavior at cafes continues to be a serious social issue," and expressed concern, saying, "With the summer vacation season in July and August approaching, many foreigners will visit Korea and use cafes frequently, which is worrisome."
