Songpa-gu in Seoul will open the Seongnae Stream Water Playground in Ogeum-dong on June 24. The water playground will be open to everyone free of charge for 70 days, until August 31.

The Seongnae Stream Water Playground is an eco-friendly summer retreat set along a natural stream in the city. With the sound of flowing water and the shade of green trees, it has become one of Songpa's most popular summer attractions, drawing more than 50,000 visitors each year.

Children can enjoy a water slide, colorful water balls, and an arch-shaped fountain that sprays rainbow-colored streams of water, all of which create a refreshing atmosphere even at a glance. In addition, the site is equipped with 20 shade canopies, 13 Mongolian tents, temporary showers and changing rooms, and other amenities, all carefully maintained to ensure a comfortable environment for everyone.

The playground operates from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with 50 minutes of play followed by a 10-minute break.

Eight safety personnel and six management staff are stationed on-site at all times to respond immediately to emergencies. Water quality is maintained through regular replacement and cleaning before and after opening, as well as weekly water quality inspections, ensuring a clean and safe environment for water activities.

The opening ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on June 24, with about 200 children from local daycare centers in attendance. Various fun programs, such as making pinwheels, yoyos, hats, and spinning tops, will also be offered to add to the excitement. The event aims to provide a special day marking the start of summer.
