"If Iran Cannot 'Make Iran Great Again (MIGA)',
Why Wouldn't There Be a Regime Change from Within?"
On June 22 (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that if the lives of Iranian citizens do not improve, there could be a regime change within Iran.
President Trump wrote in a post on his self-created social networking service, Truth Social, "Although the term 'regime change' is not politically correct, if the current Iranian regime cannot Make Iran Great Again (MIGA), then why wouldn't there be a regime change?"
The Trump administration has repeatedly emphasized that the reason for striking Iran's nuclear facilities was not to pursue regime change, but to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also claimed in a briefing the previous day that the airstrikes on Iran were overwhelmingly successful and that the nuclear program was completely destroyed. He further stated that the strikes on nuclear facilities were not intended to pursue regime change in Iran and will not be in the future, and that the United States is providing Iran with opportunities for negotiation through multiple communication channels.
Additionally, President Trump posted several messages expressing gratitude, stating that the B-2 bomber pilots who carried out the mission to strike Iran's nuclear facilities had just landed safely at the Air Force base in Missouri.
He described the damage to Iran's nuclear facilities as "monumental," and assessed that "the strikes were powerful and precise." With the facts of the damage to Iran unconfirmed and conflicting claims between the United States and Iran, President Trump reiterated his previous assertions.
