'Eleven-Story Community Service Center Opens in Downtown Seoul'... Eulji Nuri Center with Fitness Center and Shared Kitchen Opens in Euljiro

All-in-One Hub for Administration, Welfare, and Culture

The Eulji Nuri Center, an administrative complex, has opened in Euljiro, Jung-gu, Seoul. This building, donated through the Euljiro 3-ga District 12 Urban Renewal Redevelopment Project, has a total floor area of 4,471.13 square meters, spanning from one basement level to eleven above-ground floors.

Located on the site of the former Euljiro-dong Community Service Center, the Eulji Nuri Center is a “resident-oriented government building” that integrates administrative, welfare, and cultural functions, and is equipped with a variety of convenience facilities for local residents.

The original plan for the donated building was for a four-story structure. However, through ongoing negotiations with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and other higher-level agencies, Jung-gu was able to expand the space, linking park and road donations from nearby development districts, resulting in the creation of an eleven-story complex. This achievement is the result of proactive administration by the district to secure much-needed community space in Euljiro, a central urban industrial area.

The first floor of the Eulji Nuri Center houses a mechanical parking lot with 18 spaces and the Euljidawoom Cafe. The second floor contains the community service center’s civil affairs office. The third floor features a shared kitchen and the Eulji Lounge. The fourth floor includes a large auditorium and an autonomous community center. The fifth floor is equipped with a fitness center. Floors six through ten are designated for resident support facilities, such as the Single-Person Household Support Center, and the eleventh floor is a resident lounge. The center is expected to provide residents with one-stop administrative services and a wide range of lifestyle conveniences. The facilities on the sixth through tenth floors are scheduled to open in the second half of the year.

Notably, the center includes a lounge for expectant mothers and a welfare counseling room. The Eulji Lounge in front of the community leader’s office and the rooftop rest area have been created as open spaces where any resident can relax and spend time.

On June 19, Jung-gu held an opening ceremony for the Eulji Nuri Center, attended by about 200 local residents. During the event, plaques of appreciation and commendations were presented to a total of five individuals, including representatives from the developer, construction, and design companies who contributed to the new building, as well as two Jung-gu district office employees.

Kim Gilseong, Mayor of Jung-gu, stated, “I hope the Eulji Nuri Center truly becomes a space for all residents, as its name suggests,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that the new administrative complexes in Sogong-dong and Myeong-dong, which are scheduled to open sequentially next year, are also developed as spaces that residents can access more easily and conveniently.”
