The 'Nolaebyeol Park and Parking Lot' in Bono-dong, Ansan City, Gyeonggi Province, will be completed in June.
The Bono Urban Regeneration Project in Ansan, which was selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 2019 public contest, is promoting a variety of initiatives, including: Boni Village Life Care Center, smart care services, care manager training, park renewal and construction of an underground parking lot, and the creation of a Green Care living street.
Bono-dong, a typical low-rise residential area, has narrow alleys and a shortage of parking spaces, causing significant inconvenience for residents. In particular, since the development of Danwon-gu, Ansan City, began in earnest in the 2000s, the area has experienced rapid urban decline due to population outflow and a lack of basic infrastructure. As a result, expanding living infrastructure and revitalizing the community have become urgent needs.
The newly completed 'Nolaebyeol Park and Parking Lot' will be located at 818-6 Bono-dong, Sangnok-gu, Ansan City. By utilizing the underground space of the existing Nolaebyeol Park, it will provide 44 parking spaces over an area of 1,425 square meters. The aging park will also be renovated to offer themed play facilities for children and rest areas for residents.
Kim Tae-su, Director of Urban Regeneration at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We believe that the urban regeneration project will help improve Bono-dong's insufficient infrastructure and restore vitality to the community," adding, "We will continue to actively cooperate with cities and counties to improve residential conditions in the old downtown areas."
