BTS Suga Apologizes Again for Drunk Driving After Discharge: "Upset for Hurting Fans' Feelings"

Caught with a Blood Alcohol Level of 0.227% Last Year
All BTS Members Have Now Completed Their Military Service

Suga of BTS, who completed his mandatory military service as a social service agent and was discharged on June 21, bowed his head once again regarding his past drunk driving incident.

BTS Suga Apologizes Again for Drunk Driving After Discharge: "Upset for Hurting Fans' Feelings" BTS member Suga apologized once again regarding his past drunk driving incident.

On June 21, Suga posted a message on the fan community platform Weverse, stating, "I am sorry for causing disappointment and concern over what happened last year." He added, "It was very upsetting that I hurt the feelings of fans," and said, "I also felt sorry for the members, who must have felt burdened in their own ways."

Suga was summarily indicted in August last year for driving an electric scooter under the influence and was fined 15 million won through a summary order. He fell while riding an electric scooter on the streets of Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and a police investigation revealed his blood alcohol concentration was 0.227%, far exceeding the license revocation standard of 0.08%. The case was handled with a summary order, meaning a fine was imposed through a written review without a formal trial.

Suga began his alternative service as a social service agent in September 2023 and was discharged on this day. With this, all BTS members have completed their military service, about two years and six months after the eldest member Jin enlisted in December 2022.

He said, "I sincerely thank all the fans who waited for me," and pledged, "I will work even harder to repay the love you have given me."

Previously, the members attended J-Hope's solo world tour encore finale concert held at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium on June 13, the anniversary of the group's debut. Jin and Jungkook joined J-Hope on stage and performed together.
