The Korean Society of Nephrology International Congress is the largest academic event in Korea for nephrology, with participation from domestic and international experts in kidney diseases. The Outstanding Abstract Award is given to research with significant clinical implications and academic contributions.

Professor Park analyzed National Health Insurance Service big data on the topic of 'The Impact of Preemptive Vascular Access Creation on Survival in Elderly Hemodialysis Patients.' He confirmed that creating vascular access before dialysis provides a significant survival benefit. Notably, the same results were observed even in patients aged 80 and above, highlighting the risks of delaying vascular access creation solely due to age. The study was recognized for raising awareness about this common practice.

Professor Park stated, "I hope this research will provide practical help in treating elderly patients," and added, "I will continue to conduct patient-centered clinical research." Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital emphasized that this award provides important evidence for the treatment direction of elderly kidney disease patients.
