The Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology Exchange is an event where research institutes and experts from industry, academia, and research organizations in the land and transport sector gather to share the latest technological trends and R&D achievements in the railway field.
At this event, the Korea Rail Network Authority plans to operate an exhibition booth featuring its key roles and projects, future railway technologies, and the K-Rail vision, while promoting its achievements in railway innovation technology R&D to date.
The booth will also feature simulation test equipment developed to ensure the reliability of the 'Next-Generation Train Control System (KTCS-3).' The Korea Rail Network Authority plans to demonstrate train automatic operation technology to visitors using this equipment. Train automatic operation is a technology that enables a train to automatically repeat optimal acceleration and deceleration according to track conditions, so that the train can stop at a designated location.
During the event, the Korea Rail Network Authority will also participate as an expert panel in the 'Railway R&D Technology Conference,' presenting on topics such as the 'Development of HyperTube Non-Stop Boarding and Alighting Train Technology,' and discussing the future direction of core mobility technologies.
The non-stop boarding and alighting train technology allows passengers to board and alight without the train stopping at intermediate stations. The mainline train continues to run at high speed, while only the car carrying boarding and alighting passengers separates from the mainline train during operation and then rejoins it.
Seonghae Lee, President of the Korea Rail Network Authority, stated, "Through the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology Exchange, we will expand technological exchanges with domestic and international railway-related organizations and widely promote the technological capabilities of the Korea Rail Network Authority." He added, "The Korea Rail Network Authority will continue to lead digital innovation and the development of convergent technologies in the railway sector to realize a safe and smart future railway."
