The police have launched an investigation after a false report was filed at the hospital where former President Yoon Sukyeol's spouse, Kim Gunhee, is currently admitted.
On June 19, Yonhap News reported that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency received a report on the afternoon of June 17, shortly after Kim was admitted to Seoul Asan Medical Center, alleging that "Kim is using narcotics at the hospital." Yonhap News stated, "The police determined that the report was not true, apprehended the informant in Junggok-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and are investigating whether the individual has a history of mental illness."
Additionally, as there are expectations that Kim may remain hospitalized for more than one to two weeks, it was reported that on June 18, a supporter arranged for fried chicken to be delivered to the hospital with the request that it be given to Kim. The hospital reportedly refused to accept the delivery.
Meanwhile, Kim was admitted to the hospital on June 16 due to a worsening of a chronic illness. According to sources in the legal and medical communities, she is receiving inpatient treatment at the psychiatry department of Seoul Asan Medical Center. It was reported that she had recently sought outpatient treatment at the hospital's psychiatry department for symptoms of depression, and that the attending physician, judging her condition to be severe at the time, recommended hospitalization.
