Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital announced on June 19 that, as the responsible regional medical institution for Jeonnam, it has conducted specialized training to enhance the practical capabilities of medical personnel working in emergency medical vulnerable areas.
Recently, Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital co-hosted the "Emergency Medical Vulnerable Area Medical Workforce Capacity Building Training" together with Mokpo Medical Center and Suncheon Medical Center. The training program was held twice, at Goheung Sun Valley Resort and Jindo Sol Beach Resort.
This training was organized as part of the "2025 Public Health and Medical Cooperation System Establishment Project." Its core goal was to establish a system for rapid initial response and transfer of emergency patients at the scene.
The training was attended by 38 health center chiefs from regions with insufficient emergency medical infrastructure, including Goheung County, Jindo County, and Haenam County. The curriculum was practice-oriented, combining both theoretical and hands-on training. After the theoretical sessions, participants engaged in practical exercises, which was evaluated as having significantly improved their on-site response capabilities.
Through this training, Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital focused not only on one-time knowledge transfer but also on strengthening organic cooperation between local medical institutions and reinforcing the emergency medical network.
Kwon Soonseok, Director of the Public Health and Medical Project Office at Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital, stated, "Enhancing the capabilities of medical personnel to provide high-quality medical services in emergency medical vulnerable areas is a very important task," and added, "As the responsible regional medical institution for Jeonnam, we will take the lead in continuous training and the establishment of cooperative systems to bridge the gap in emergency medical care."
